Using a Global Positioning System (GPS), satellites are used to provide co-ordinates, these are recorded and then downloaded to provide an accurate record of the survey, which is then placed onto the Ordnance Survey Data to show the results of the survey.
This type of survey is ideal for rural locations for IACS/RPA measurements and other uses as shown below.
It is a relatively cheap method of carrying out survey work particularily in areas where absolute accuracy is not required. The system we use has an inbuilt RTK, which in ideal conditions can give an accuracy of approximately 15 mm
